A-Level & GCSE Results - 2021

In what has been an extremely challenging year for students and staff, we are absolutely delighted with the results our students have achieved.

This year, following the cancellation of exams, our students were assessed against a high standard under controlled conditions, with careful marking and moderation. Students getting their grades today can therefore be completely confident that they have reached high standards and should feel very proud.

Our students have performed well across the broad range of qualifications offered at The Castle Rock School. Alongside some exceptional performance in A levels and GCSEs, students have also excelled in a range of vocational and technical qualifications.

Amongst our many high performers in a range of A level/ L3 qualifications include:

Charley Huckerby with A* in History, English Literature, Art and Design and the extended project

Chloe Edmonds with an astonishing five A* grades in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, French and Mathematics.

Jordon Elkington-Ball with A* grades in Biology and Psychology, and an A grade in Chemistry.

Charlie Collins with A* grades in English Literature and History and A in French.

Rhianne Cross with A* grades in Chemistry, French, Maths and Further Maths.

Tanya Lukavec with four A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry and Psychology.

Thomas Horn with A* in Geography, A in English Literature and a Distinction* in Level 3 Diploma for Music Practitioners.

Neve Clarke with an A* in Biology and an A in Chemistry and Maths

Isaac Wilton with an A* in Geography and an A in Maths and Physics.

Codie Woodley with a Distinction * in L3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Hairdressing

Alexandra Smart with Distinction* in Applied Science and Health and Care, and a B in Business.

Our A level students will be studying at a range of top universities, including Cambridge, Exeter, Durham and Lancaster. We are equally proud of our students who have overcome considerable adversity and achieved great grades which will be their passport to higher education and employment. Virtually all our students have secured places at their universities of choice.

The Sixth Form, part of the Apollo Partnership Trust, will be taking students from the Newbridge School next year when the first group of students finish their GCSE year there. In addition, many students have had great success in a range of GCSE/ L2 qualifications. These include:

Lauren Cross with an astonishing ten grade 9 GCSEs in Psychology, History, French, Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, English Language and English Literature.

Lottie Dawson with four grade 9 GCSEs in Maths, English Language, and Combined Science, two grade 8’s in Further Maths and Business, a grade 7 in English Literature and grade 6 in French and History. She also achieved a Distinction in L2 Performing Arts: Acting.

Samuel Roberts with three grade 9 GCSEs in Maths, Biology and Chemistry, two grade 8s in History and Physics, three grade 7s in English Language, English Literature and Further Maths, a grade 6 in French and a D* L2 BTEC in Music.

Jack Radford with four grade 9 GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and History, three grade 8’s in Maths, English Literature and Psychology and a grade 7 in English Language.

Many of our GCSE students are planning to pursue their education in the Apollo Sixth Form. We look forward to welcoming them at the start of the new term. We wish all of the students that are leaving us to pursue other destinations, including college courses and apprenticeships, the very best of luck for the future.
